Some of our current volunteer opportunities include:
Board Members
Our CTHA Board is responsible for planning, developing, maintaining and promoting the Crescent Trail footpaths. Our board members meet once a month to talk about the trails, address concerns and find ways to keep the community’s passion for Crescent Trail alive. Some of our board members are heavily involved in trail maintenance, property easements, conservation, membership, social media, marketing, public relations, events and more. In fact, a major goal of CTHA is to educate the community on our natural surrounding and trail system so you’ll often meet our Board Members on our free, monthly guided hikes! This group of dedicated volunteers is always open to fresh ideas. If you have an interest in getting involved, let us know. We are currently in search of arborists, lovers of environmental conservation and avid hikers willing to lead our guided treks.
Board Liaison
Do you have a vested interest in the planning, development, and maintenance of the Crescent Trail footpaths AND political aspirations? Consider joining one of the many Perinton Volunteer Boards where you can advocate for the future of our trails within the Town of Perinton, NY.
Silver Foxes
You may have seen them on the trails, our group of dedicated maintenance volunteers nicknamed, “The Silver Foxes” meets every Wed from mid-April to mid-November to clear downed trees, mow and trim the trails, place signage and build, as well as repair, more than 100 bridges, and structures. Lead by our fearless Trail Boss, Jim Unckless, this group of nearly 20 volunteers is always looking for an extra set of hands whether you can come weekly, monthly, or even just one-time, we’d love to have you.
Lead a Community Project
Whether your office is looking to organize a “day of caring,” your family is eager to help with trail clean up, or maybe your aspiring Eagle Scout is looking for a sponsored project, we are always open to collaborating. Our trail kiosks, our observation platforms, benches, bridges and gardens are often the result of passionate community members and many times, Eagle Scout. We encourage you to visit our website to learn more about these recent projects, or contact us to create your own.
